Can I use the differential amplifiers (DP-301, DP-304, DP-311) for intracellular recordings?

The DP-301 can be used for intracellular measurements.

The input resistance of 1012 ohm is sufficiently high to allow use of sharp electrodes. For example, when using a gain of 100x, a 100 mV change in membrane potential would yield 10V at the amplifier output, which still is within the maximum output voltage swing (+/- 10V) of the instrument.

One thing to note, however, is that the leakage current in the differential amplifiers is not adjustable to zero, as it is for our intracellular electrometers (IE-251A or IE-210). Therefore, a 50 pA leakage current in series with a 100 Mohm input resistance will yield a 0.5 mV offset.
